Follow these steps to reset your toilet:

First, be sure to replace the wax ring before resetting the toilet
Ensure the bolts are straight and are both set through their respective holes
Put both washers and nuts back onto the bolts and tighten down on both sides of the toilet
Make sure the toilet is fastened tightly to the floor
Hook up the water line
Turn the water supply on and make sure there are no leaks
